Prednisone, the real story

  Prednisone

So you've been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and prescribed prednisone. First thing you may want to do is research absolutely everything about that double edged sword that you are expected to take to treat your disease. Your doctor will never tell you everything about it period, so don't expect it. My wife was diagnosed with PMR during the summer of 2023 while I was working out of town. My immediate response was to come home and face this medical problem with my wife.

The first thing I do after waking up on my first day home is make a pot of coffee and tell myself "Ok, we can deal with this". Let me tell you, I had no clue what I was in for. I open up my laptop and go to work researching all I can about the disease and the medication. The disease part was easy, the medication part woke me up to a whole new world. First off, a google search seamed to only list about half of the side effects. A deeper and much more intensive search revealed a whole world of things that gave me even more reason to distrust western medicine and medical practices.

When I first started reading I wasn't to concerned. About an hour into it I had thoughts of online shopping for a straight jacket. And let me tell you, after 7 months of my wife on prednisone I was wishing I actually bought one and a years supply of duck tape. The arguments, anger, and outright psychosis have taken a toll that's for damn sure. Let me make one thing perfectly clear, no marriage is perfect and we've had our struggles however, prednisone can and will push your relationship with your wife/husband to the fucking limit. Expect comments and remarks from out of nowhere that will feel like emotional haymakers. One example is today, after finishing up putting the groceries away and firing up the computer to further add to this blog I was told "So you think your work is done?" This is after getting up at 6 AM, going to work and busting my ass not only doing everything I could for my boss but, finding what ever I could for make work projects to get more hours. Believe me, your spouse that has been diagnosed with a condition that requires prednisone they will find out if you love them inside of the first month of being on the medication. I am telling you, every single doubt you could possibly have will cross your mind. So buckle up cause here it comes.

Expect your spouse's personality to change, and I'm not saying in a small way. there will be days where you are the enemy period. If you think menopause or andropause (male equivalent) has anything on prednisone think again. You are in for one hell of a ride. See, the actual problem arises from the fact that most of our diets contain shit that are not in any way shape or form conductive to real health and wellness. We manufacture food, we don't grow it anymore. Grocery stores charge more for supposed "organic foods", internet fads contradict themselves, social media platforms push bullshit down our throats and couple that with people's own inability to have a open mind in this day and age and next thing you know..its a cluster fuck.

The Cluster Fuck

Look at how much money is spent on marketing, then look at the latest "Documentaries" that have been on Netflix. Vegan seems to be the word of the day. Ok, so for the most part my wife was primarily vegan. So, after actually thinking about what she was eating I was dumbfounded that she was still suffering from even worse symptoms. That told me a few things, first of which was what these "Documentaries" where saying was a bunch of shit. Leading to me coming to the conclusion that said documentaries are obviously paid for by the very companies that don't want you to even know what you should be doing or eating. Isn't it amazing to see what's possible with money? I bet that makes you feel great knowing that the companies that are telling you what you should be eating are the same companies that are more than a little likely to have major shares in pharmaceutical companies that are providing medications that are needed to combat the exact same conditions that their foods create? The Canadian food guide, well now there's a cluster fuck. Low fat diets, another one when considering that your body actually needs dietary fat to product hormones. Now, let's get one thing straight..carbs ARE sugar, not the other way around. Dietary fat is the absolute BEST source or energy bar none! " Don't eat fat that are solid at room temperature..bullshit. How many people's internal temperature is room temperature? Saturated fats are bad and they come from processed foods that are produced from the very same companies that are paying for these "Documentaries" and profiting from your fear and ignorance. Bacon fat, real butter, fat from hamburger..yup. That char broiled steak..yup..eat that damn thing! Seriously, do your own research. PMR, MS, or any other autoimmune disease labeled in the last 60 years is on the rise and in a huge way. Inflammation has been on the rise, ADHA, allergies, low testosterone levels..yup..all a result of the cluster fuck that is being shoved down our throats and what we allow to be thrown in front of our faces every single time we decide we want to research on a mass media platform.

So, lets get back to the topic at hand. Do you really think for one minute that Big Pharma actually wants cures? Let me clear this up for you..not a chance in hell. They want repeat customers, otherwise they'd go broke, after all who in business that spends $4 billion to get a drug approved doesn't want return on their investment? I will also add that as I write this my wife is struggling and can't identify with what is actually stressing her out so much. That's prednisone for you! And this is a completely unnecessary drug period! It can and will cause problems for everyone that takes it or is with anyone that takes it. Wake up people, and quit being lead around by the nose. Its time to start thinking a lot more for yourself and taking responsibility for your choices.
